Our Story

Our family tradition of artisanal tasajo production dates back to 1920. My grandfather, at that time lived in Manicaragua, a rural town near the Escambray Mountains, Cuba, to support the family he used to hunt deer. A part of that meat was salted and dried, to turn it into venison slices. My grandmother cooked that tasajo as a delicious delicacy, which everyone wanted. In 1935 my grandparents moved to the city and continued to make their homemade tasajo, but with beef

In Cuba, in the 70s, my father had the initiative to use horse meat as a raw material and he was looking for a different way to make our homemade tasajo. This method of preparation allowed us to achieve extraordinary results with a unique flavor, thus marking a before and after in the elaboration of a tasajo with a delicious flavor, which had a great family acceptance for a long time.

Currently in the USA, we are producing and offering a type of artisanal tasajo made with the same ancestral technique, but with top quality beef, with an exquisite texture, smell and flavor capable of pleasing the taste of the most demanding consumer.
